A HEARTFELT NEW COMEDY WITH MUSIC EXPLORING AUTISM'S MANY JOYS, STRUGGLES AND COMPLEXITIES. 

One woman plays multiple roles in this 90 minute ride. Abounding with music, irreverent humor and verbatim interviews, “A” TRAIN takes us on a trip to a different way of being, redefining happiness with every twist and turn.

Utilizing a compact, portable set, “A” TRAIN is told through songs, stories, and mature language.

PRODUCTION HISTORY

"A" TRAIN was developed at UC Santa Barbara, Department of Theater and Dance's LAUNCH PAD program.

In 2017, "A TRAIN" won “Best Production” at the United Solo Festival in NYC…and was the top selling show of the year. (There were over 120 plays in the Festival!)

"A" TRAIN played a sold-out performance at LA’s Skirball Cultural Center and partnered with the Art of Autism which held an art exhibit in the lobby.  We feature some of their artists’ work as part of the show. 

"A"  TRAIN ran at Playmakers Repertory Company in NC in April, 2018. Click for review.

"A" TRAIN returned as the Opening Performance of the 2018 United Solo Festival  in NY on  Sept. 13th and won “Best Encore” of the Festival. Click for review.

“A” TRAIN played at Center Stage Theatre in Santa Barbara in October, 2018.

“A” TRAIN was part of the Old Globe New Voices in the Community Series in November, 2018.

“A” TRAIN played at the Hartbeat Ensemble in February/March, 2019.

“A” TRAIN will play at Theatre Horizon in PA on October 5 and 6, 2019.

“A” TRAIN will run at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura from May 6-24, 2020.
